Treating Whiplash in Enschede
Neck complaints after a sudden jolt, for example following a collision.
Whiplash is caused by a sudden whip-like movement of the neck, usually after a collision. The neck is thrown back and forth in a fraction of a second, overloading muscles, joints and nerves.
The complaints do not have to appear immediately; sometimes they only surface days later. Besides neck pain you may experience headaches, dizziness, concentration problems and a stiff neck.
Common symptoms
- Neck pain and stiffness after an accident
- Headache, often coming from the neck
- Dizziness or a feeling of fatigue
- Radiating pain or tingling into the arms
How we help you with whiplash
We treat the neck carefully and step by step, matched to the phase of recovery. Early on the emphasis is on rest and gentle mobilisation, later on restoring full movement.
That way we guide you through recovery and help prevent the complaints from becoming chronic.
Frequently asked questions
Can a chiropractor help with whiplash?
That depends on the cause, which is why we always start with a thorough examination. If your complaint turns out to be suitable for chiropractic care, we draw up a treatment plan that fits you. Many people experience relief, although results differ from person to person.
Do I need a referral from my GP?
No. You can book an appointment directly, without a referral from your GP.
Is the treatment reimbursed?
Chiropractic care is not part of the Dutch basic health insurance, but many insurers cover it under supplementary insurance. No deductible (eigen risico) applies. The pricing page explains how to submit your invoice.
How many treatments will I need?
That differs per person and per complaint. After the first examination we give you a realistic estimate and a plan, so you know where you stand.
